Unrestricted access to office visits, joint injections, nebulizer treatments, spirometry, skin lesion removal, suturing, EKGs, pulse oximetry, rapid strep tests, urine dips…pretty much anything provided in a primary care office (some offices charge a small fee for drawing labs, some don’t).

In-house generic dispensing

DPC patients have access to near-wholesale prices for hundreds of generic medications dispensed in-house for pennies on the dollar (over-the-counter meds/supplements and durable medical equipment are included too)!

Many insurance plans have high shared costs for prescriptions due to deductibles and co-pays. Direct Primary Care patients keep that money in their pockets where it belongs.

Sometimes it’s just the convenience of walking out of the office with prescription in-hand and saving a trip to the pharmacy that is the value-add. Moms with a few kids in-tow may be DPC’s biggest fans.

ACCESSIBLE

Same day/next day appointment for acute/sick issues.

Non-acute issues get seen within a week.

Prolonged appoinments, averaging between 30-60 minutes (sometimes longer if needed).

Telemedicine consults are available when you can’t make it to the office.

DPC patients even get their doctor’s personal email address and cell phone number for direct access.

DPC physicians never want to tell their patients, “sorry we don’t have enough time to address all of your issues today [in your 7-10 minute visit]. You have to schedule another appointment to discuss some of those.”

Subscription-based

Just like your Netflix or Costco membership, belonging to an independent Direct Primary Care practice is by subscription.

Each practice charges a bit differently based on what they offer with membership, age brackets and their local market’s environment. Just like Free Market Medicine should work!

The national average per member per month is between $60 to $70, with children being priced lower. That comes out to $2 - $2.33 per day, less than a Venti from Starbucks! And far less than your cell phone bill, with more perks.

Telemedicine

Most insurance plans charge an extra fee for after-hours telemedicine - not Direct Primary Care! DPC patients can reach their physician via text, email, phone call, or video chat.

DPC physicians work hard to keep patients out of the ER/Urgent Care/hospital. Imagine the efficiency and convenience of talking to YOUR OWN PERSONAL PHYSICIAN who knows you and your medical history when needed after office hours.

And then, if needed, we will see you in the office the next day, saving time and money. Boom!
